Water changes what you have to test
If your formulation contains water, it can support microbial growth. That one fact drives your testing obligations. Alongside the Product Information File and the Cosmetic Product Safety Report, a water-containing product needs microbiological testing to establish its current quality, a preservative efficacy (challenge) test to prove the preservative system actually holds, and an accelerated stability and compatibility test to show the product survives its shelf life in its chosen packaging.
This package is those five services together, at a 10% saving.

Aerosols are different. If your product is filled into an aerosol can, additional rules apply on top of the tests above and it needs a dedicated aerosol safety assessment. Contact us and we will scope it properly rather than sell you the wrong package.
How the price works
Four of the five services are fixed-price. The CPSR scales with the number of ingredients in your formula, so the package price moves with the tier you select above — from a small formulation to one with 40 or more ingredients. Nothing is hidden: the configurator shows each component and its discounted price as you build.
Why buy it as a package
- One intake, one timeline — the assessor and the lab work from the same submission instead of you coordinating five separate orders.
- The tests feed the CPSR — microbiological, challenge and stability results are inputs to the safety assessment. Ordering them together means your assessor is not waiting on data.

Already have some of this? If you hold valid test reports or a completed PIF, do not buy them twice. Contact us with what you have and we will price only the gap.
If water — aqua — appears in your formulation as a phase, you are water-based, and the table above applies. Emulsions, gels, shampoos, conditioners and most creams and lotions all qualify. If you are unsure, send us the formulation and we will tell you before you order.
Microbiological and challenge testing exist to address microbial growth, which needs available water. A product with no water phase — an oil, a powder, a high-alcohol spray, a wax — does not present that risk, so those two tests fall away. Stability testing still applies to every product.
Four components are fixed. The CPSR scales with your ingredient count, so the package total depends on the tier you select. The configurator shows the exact price before you add to cart.
The five core services are what a water-containing product needs, so they are included as standard. If you already hold a valid test report or PIF, contact us rather than ordering — we will price only what is missing.
It completes your safety and testing file, which is the substantial part. You also need a CPNP notification and an appointed EU Responsible Person before you can place the product on the market. We provide both, and the Full Compliance Pack bundles them with this.
Aerosols carry additional requirements on top of the tests in the table and need a dedicated aerosol safety assessment. Contact us and we will scope it properly instead of selling you a package that does not fit.
The laboratory work sets the pace — challenge and accelerated stability testing take time that cannot be compressed. Once your intake is received we confirm a realistic timeline for the whole file.
